I went back home (home? any way) on vacation in 2004. I took this picture on my way to isb. I couldn't stop laughing when i saw this "thing".

I still didn't get the point, that why in the hell somebody would install a big clock in the middle of a "haar".

Any comments?

I'm not too good at expressing what I feel, I never learnt to do that, I admit I'll be scared of doing that for some more time till I learn a few things more about people and life. I was just trying to learn from anything and everything that could teach what is life, love and friendship is all about... I just didn't know what I could do to make everything start going right. Today, i am happy that I know at least I'm true to myself and I'm trying my best to be the best, to be good, and to be perfect.

The thing disturbs me the most is that, allot of people thinks that they are in power and everybody else in this world is just piece of sh**. They treat other people as their slaves. They expect that everybody should kiss their feet and obey their orders no matter what. They go by the golden laws of the book. Just whats written in the name of truth. They write the book the way its convenient for them to read. My advice for them is that, if you seek your place in someones heart, act on the policy "Live and Let Live", never interfere in people's personal life, stay out of their personal family circle.

26..., Am I getting old?

I promised myself several times that i will never say this line, but this thought keep recurring so I have to own it.

I sound like a grandparent, calling beta and bacha to everyone....lOl..nahhh just kidding...

I think you only hurt yourself when you're not expanding or growing. I'm not getting older, just better :) I feel like i am more mature now, i have tons and tons of plans including career and academic improvements for this year so lets see how much i will be able to accomplish.

i am still here. Its 1 AM and i am waiting for the DST change. The clocks will move one hour ahead. I have to check the functionality and stability of all my work servers and applications for the DST change. That means when the time changes at 2AM (which at that time will be 3AM) i will be working on this project for another hour, which means i will be here until 4AM. :(

Oh well, i should stop complaining and better get back to work.

Decisions....

I think I am impetuous by nature and I often like to make rush decisions in life. Life is full of choices and decisions. Although decision-making arises from the simplest choices of either "X" or "Y" but one tends to complicate things. At times, it requires courage depending on the level of decision made & anxiety often sets in. In fact, I don't really like to go through all these painful and dramatic cycles, but “people” needs to understand that nobody will ever intentionally make a bad decision for themselves. Of course everybody gives priority to their immediate family. Nobody will ever make or rather "Choose" a decision (which he/she knows that won't workout for him/her) just to make everybody happy. Because he knows that all these people will enjoy that particular moment and will disappear after that, they will disappear and get busy in making their own decisions for the very best in their life. If they have the right to make decisions in their life, how come I can't do the same?

All I can say, I think every decision "I" made for/in "my" life was in the best interest of me and my family (or at least I think that way). There was nothing personal or against any individual. I know I can be wrong but at least I won't blame anybody. Plus I believe that whatever happens in the life, happens for a reason. Indeed God knows the best.

Have you ever wondered how time flies by so fast when you are not paying attention? Have you ever wondered why most people ignore the fact that time has stole minutes/hours/days/years from their precious life?

Life is going really fast for me. Almost everyday I ask myself, what happened to Sheharyar? The real Sheharyar? Sheharyar who was so lively, active and social? Trust me responsibilities change your life completely. These last 6 years, seem to go by in a one big eye flick. I have not made a single friend and have no social life what so ever. Its not that I don't or can't have social life, but to me social gatherings here, begins with hanging out in a bar or in a party and you will end up being drunk, and that's simply not me (this topic needs a separate post and I will save it for later). Life has seemed to STOP in its tracks while it has left me with the memory of yesterday.

Life gives us brief moments...but sometimes in those brief moments we get memories that last a life time...

Just to give everybody an update on the car. Insurance company has paid for the damages and i got it fixed. Its not the same as it was before the accident, but it still runs great :)

As of right now i am waiting for the insurance company to complete the inspection for my vehicle and then they will be able to tell me if they are going to fix it or if its a total loss. I hope everything works out well.

Disappeared for a short while, just got real busy... Specially last 10 days were extremely hectic and stressful for everybody in my family including myself. As most of you already know that my beloved uncle (my chachu) passed away 2 weeks ago ( Tuesday 2nd of October) at the age of 52. 'Ina lillah hay wa Ina elahay raja'oun' ( To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return). Please make a dua for him that May Allah bless his soul and grant him Jannah (AAmeen).Last 2 weeks were extremely hard for everybody in my family and we are still trying to recover from this big loss. I know it is very tough and especially its very hard for his family to recover, please make a dua for his family as well that May Allah Give Them Sabar(AAmeen).
Most of you that i had an accident on October 12th on my way to work. Well i was getting late for work that day and left home after Sehri. My office is almost 20 minutes away from my house. I drove almost 10 mins and stopped at the red light, an old Lady (in late 50s maybe early 60s) slammed into my car from the back doing atleast 45mph. The collision was massive, she threw my car in the middle of the intersection. I thank Allah that it was a quite intersection and there was no traffic at 6AM otherwise i would have gotten hurt real bad. Her air bag deployed and slammed her on the face and she started bleeding from the nose. (that's weired that how they have designed these air bags in the cars for safety, they do more damage than the actual accident). Allhumdullilah i walked away from my car without getting hurt. My back is kinda sore because of the jerk caused by the collision. It was raining and a bit chilly in the morning. I helped this lady to walk to the side of the road and asked her to sit on the curb. I called the cops and also informed them she was bleeding from the nose and they might paramedics on the site as well. Anyway, cops arrived in few minutes with an ambulance. Insurance people will start their work once they get the report from Police on Monday. I hope everything works out well.

What is Friendship?

Allot of time i ask myself a question.
"What is Friendship?"

I think friendship is something you choose to do, you don’t do it out of a sense of obligation. Friendship is not a state of mind, it is an act. It is something you do, it is not about whether you are good or not. It is a relationship between people, a balanced relationship. But again it doesn’t mean that it is always balanced at every moment. Sometimes you “need a friend” and sometimes you don't. I heard allot of people saying that friendship is love (friendship between opposite sexes), well i think friendship and love are not quite the same thing but there is a lot of love around friendship. Friends know when they are needed, they know they can throw all their problems just as easily as they can give their shoulders to cry on. They know when to push and when to back off, they will never pressure you for favors.I got rid of my "original" orkut account years ago when I got annoyed with the fact that there were so many "so called friends" on my list, and I didn't even know half of them. (Well that's another story that i still have an account on orkut and i login there just to check on my "real" Friend's profiles once in a while).

Anyway, its getting late now and i have to be up early in the AM. So see you guys later.

The main purpose of this blog is to practice my writing, communicate with others, learn from their experiences, share thoughts and ideas and get feedback from them. I asked myself several times that do i really need a blog? I think a blog can extend me in a way that affirms who i am. Another reason for starting this blog is to share information and i think information is energy, i can absorb it and add something to it to pass it on to others. I will also try to discuss latest IT Trends, Technology Tips and Tricks.
